The Three Finalists for the Zone 3 City Council Seat have been Announced

They are Jeremy Cady, Jerry Compton and Dan Scott.

Scott and Compton are both architects. Cady is a Web/graphic manager.

From the City's news release:

Each of the three candidates will be interviewed, in a random order, beginning at 6 p.m., Monday, in Council Chambers in Historic City Hall. Each candidate will be asked the same set of questions. The other two candidates will be sequestered while one is being interviewed so that they don't hear the questions or responses. City Council members were asked to submit questions or topics that are being used to develop the set of questions.

Mayor Jim O'Neal said he would like the Council to hold a vote Monday night following the presentations. A five-vote majority is required for the successful applicant.

The finalists were selected from a group of nine applicants who made presentations at a special City Council meeting on Wednesday, April 29. Each current Council member was asked to select his or her top four choices and those choices were narrowed to the top three finalists.

The finalist interviews, as well as the regular Council meeting, will air live on the City Web site: tv23.springfieldmo.gov and on TV23, the City's government access channel, on Mediacom Channel 23. Application information for the finalists is available.
